Chorist Announces First EP "Ritual Sequence", out December 3rd.
Four tracks inspired by the artist's love of IDM, freestyle, and Miami bass, "Ritual Sequence" is dance music made with a focus on melody and the bouncing interplay of the kick and snare. Some tracks work on the dance floor, but the release as a whole serves as a 20-minute headphone excursion into a spacious, abstract world.
Made with a hardware sequencer, two synthesizers, a drum machine, and the artist's self-made sound design MIDI software, each track was recorded live to stereo, without a pre-defined compositional structure. Loops and layers are morphed in time and come and go when it feels right.
Recorded at home amidst the bamboo in Austin, Texas.
"Ritual Sequence" is the Austin-based producer's first release. The EP's tracks are influenced by 90's IDM, freestyle, and Miami bass music, and made using a hardware sequencer, two synthesizers, and a drum machine.
